What kind of restaurant quits serving food at 7:45 on the Saturday night of Memorial weekend that is located on a marina???? What a joke!!!!!
Ya know when you come across someone, or a couple of people that have a dream for something better - and you get to see it translate into something tangible? 10 years ago Tenkiller was lacking for the most part in much to offer in terms of on the lake restaurants, a friendly outdoor atmosphere accessible from most parts of the lake. Since then several places have stepped up to the pump so to speak... The Cookson Bend Marina Restaurant has done that and more - and it's constantly evolving. A friendly patio - many times bustling atmosphere, this restaurant employs a lot of family members that don't just work there, they are fiercely loyal and yes, quaint as it sounds, proud of what they offer. So that this doesn't get relegated as just a bunch of "fluff" talk, I've loaded up a picture of one my husband and I's fav menu items, the nachos. This let's you get a bit more objective idea on the quality at least for this particular choice, thought they've got several great ones. I deliberately put the 32 oz drink cup in the background since we've all had them and this gives a size reference. Now notice the size of the actual meal. Then zero in on the loaded vegies. Bright green, bright red, fresh it also comes with a choice in queso, shredded cheese or both. And you can get it in chicken or beef. While I actually wasn't as big on the way they fixed the chicken in the past, they constructed a new kitchen and redid their recipe for nachos and they are a generous portioned (many if not most will split the order) meal that also comes with jalepeno peppers, tomatoes, lettuce, onions, meat, guacamole and sour cream. Remember, this isn't a staged shot for promotion - it's just the order that came in for me that day - and it's been that way all year.
Ate here for the first time yesterday, the food was great and we had a great waitress. While we were there I looked at wakesurf boards, which the owner helped me pick one out. Awesome place, highly recommend it.
They've also add a "bottoms up" beer fill, meaning as I understand it, less foam, a richer beer all in a new fun on the lake bar setting. And this beer enhancement is nowhere else to be found on the lake, seems like there was a mention about the Hard Rock Cafe having it and that's about it. Basicly a rare fun treat that we get to have on Tenkiller. For us the nachos are addictively satisfying, cool and fresh - many times craved after hours in the sun. If you get there during peak hours it can get busy, with good reason, but the atmosphere is laid back and welcoming. For Tenkiller they've raised the bar, and we so appreciate it.
Stayed at the motel, ate at the marina, and put our boat in a slip. We'd go there again. Nice weekend.
Came from Kansas to have a nice birthday get away with my friends. We stayed in the duplex #12. When we arrived at our duplex, it was miserable hot. The owner informed us that if the thermostat was moved below 65, it would make the A/C unit freeze up. We had never moved the thermostat and it was a miserable weekend of sleeping in 88 degree rooms. Let's just say I wasted $195 for crappy a crappy duplex and completely rude owners. We will never stay here again. Please do not waste money on this place.
